Embracing the Cycles of our Nature and Communion with Animal Medicine
I share this medicine during a full moon. The moon is known to have an effect upon the waters of our bodies. The fullness of the moon can feel like an a fountain of life. However, rather than fullness and fruition, I know some of you are feeling some form of letting go, shedding, dissolving, surrendering or initiatory death despite the moon's current cycle. Yet because it is a full moon, you think you are supposed to be celebrating your abundance.
To those of you who feel that way right now, I invite you to consider this ... Focus inward and trust what you sense. Allow yourself to move with the ebb of release if that is what you are tuning into within your body-being. There are many pathways, and much medicine to be found along these ancient paths - if you are looking for it. Here is another tool to place in your toolbox for when you feel inclined to call upon it: a guided shamanic journey to find your power animal.
Keep listening for the medicine that is needed in this moment. At any time, you can return to this journey and receive exactly what you need from the medicine animal who comes to you.
Working with power animals is fairly straight forward and simple to practice. If you have no experience with this practice, here are some tips to get you started after you've met your animal guide:
Focus on the animal who came to you and make some notes about your impressions. What does it look like? How would you describe its physical characteristics? What kind of personality or essence does it convey to you? Where and how does it live? After you have done this work of direct observation and intuitive perceptions, do some research. What more can you find out about its habitat, prey, predators, life cycles? With all the information you have gleaned and gathered, what are the elements that resonate most with you right now? What similarities are mirrored in your current life experiences? How are its relationships like relationships you have? The animal medicine is in how this animal's qualities invite you to reflect upon yours. What wisdom does it share with you that you can apply in your life, to bring balance and harmony or strength and resilience? Your animal ally will now walk beside you - within you - with the power it shares with you. Offer your gratitude for the medicine it offers you.

What is the medicine you need now? Perhaps you are so full you need to empty and shed some old layers of skin before you are able to allow more of the fullness of this moon in.
The mastery is in embracing these cyclical cycles - of becoming undone as well as being in our states of flourishing green vitality, menstruation and ecstatic birth, ebbing and flowing … I don’t yet know enough about astrology to speak on the subject with any authority about planetary causes and effects but I do feel certain it’s not as simple as only the moon being an influence within our cycles. I’m an intuitive feeling sensing trusting in the flow person and my experience of this life journey feels much more complex than to be in solely relation with the moon cycles. As we are all interconnected with all life, I know for certain we experience reverberating effects from everything that goes on in and on this earth as well as those bodies spiraling around us in the universe. This is the plane on which our power animal spirit guides can work in symbiotic relationship with us and provide effective medicine for our energy body-spirit-mind.
