Journeying Shamanically to Retrieve Wisdom from Within: A Guided Meditation Video
Lately, I have been journeying with control and trust. Control is insidiously present in my family life, I realized when I stopped to take a closer look. About 10 years ago I made a conscious choice to open my heart. As I began to work with this opening, I saw more clearly how much of my inner operations were controlled by an inner Judge. This law enforcer had opinions about everything and everyone. I was not so much surprised as I was ready to acknowledge this aspect of how I interacted with myself and the world. A decade later, after years of therapy and training and apprenticing, shedding layers of armor and masks, here I am again looking at yet another even deeper layer of how much I cling to control of the world around me and the places where I still do not trust. Two different things and yet related. When I let go of Control, can I Trust that I will be okay, or that my kids will be okay, or that a situation -whatever it is- will be okay? Am I ready to open my heart more fully, to take freedom to another level and let go of control, that oppressive influence deeply embedded and embodied within me?
Which brings me to this Full Moon offering. There are so many tools and ways to unravel threads interwoven into our being that do not truly serve freedom or life. I have found myself being drawn back to sitting in meditation more often, to breathe and create spaces of consciousness to become more aware of sovereign choice and observation of all that is at play in this moment that is not of this moment. Breathing into this body and noticing where there is flow and where there is holding. I will talk more about meditation next month - well, that is part of my scheduled plan. As we know, Spirit may have other plans, as She has this month. What I am offering this moon cycle is yet another way to come into the presence of our awareness, to breathe into our body-being and listen deeply, to Trust the wisdom within this miraculous vessel.
The language of "womb" is used in this journey. For all of you wonderful men, the word "womb" used in this meditation is interchangeable with hara or dantian. Dantian literally means "elixir of life field". It is this area below the naval - whether you have a womb or not - where creative energy is focused. You can google it and find out all about the physiology of this power center. Here, we all have the limitless and primordial potential to create life. It is also in this space where we feel intuitively.
Imagine our umbilical cord still connected to the galactic womb and to the womb of the earth, and to all life. Feel how information comes through this energy center and informs us. What wisdom is waiting for us? Journey into the garden of this creative source to listen and find out what we already know to be true once we are able feel deeply into our womb-hara/dantian center of our body-being. Trust what comes into awareness.
If you haven't experienced a shamanic journey before, you can imagine it is like a dream. Allow visions to arise freely and follow where they lead. Even if they lead somewhere other than where I guide you. There is a reason for that. Everything is information.
If you don't tend to be a visual person, trust what you feel and sense in other ways. Random images or a sense of a particular color or scent are the clues and messages that are coming through just for you in this moment.
Eventually you will begin to decode the meanings as they relate to your particular cosmology. A rose is not just a rose for everyone. Rose is archetypal, and related to a particular lineage or frequency of energy, or it is an herbal medicine, but Rose can also be very personal symbol as it relates to the rosebush in your aunt's garden, for example.
Trust what you feel, hear, sense in any way. Why, Who, What, Where, How? Be curious and yet let Mind go. Don't try to comprehend or understand or make meaning out of the journey while you're in it. There will be time for that later. Let go of control and trust.
You may find as you release wanting to figure it all out, that there is more space to accept what you see, feel, hear ... more space to allow information to come through in whatever form these messages travel into your consciousness from the unseen realm. I will talk more about the unseen feminine brain-realm of consciousness and multi-dimensional reality another time. Meanwhile, blessings upon your medicine oracle journey.
Before you press play, know that right after we come out of the journey, you will hear some background sounds. Let them come into your awareness and then let them go. Stay with all your sensual awareness as your write about your dreamtime experiences in your journal. Have a cup of tea and a bite to eat. I like raisins, nuts, clementines or chocolate as ways to get grounded after a journey into the spirit realms.
You may choose to do a Full Moon ritual in addition to this journey, before or after the journey. You may feel called to set up an altar - I will talk more about this eventually too, but for now if you don't know anything about it, you may light a candle with intention, burn or spray some sage, copal, frankincense, or other natural incense or essential oil you feel drawn to. Work with the elements. You may include on your altar bowls of water and earth. Air can be represented by the incense or a feather. Or place objects sacred to you on an altar.
You may also be drawn to hold ceremony outside, build a small fire and whisper your prayers or offerings, or what you want to release or call into your life, into the ends of a stick and burn it. Watching it burn, gazing into the flames and embers can be a divination journey as well. Be open to the messages you receive, to the images you see. Full Moon is also a good time to do some seed planting!
Whatever you decide, may Spring bless you as we honor the potent holy time of this week's re-membering. May we Trust all that is coming up into our awareness from within this sacred body of ours.
The purpose of the work we do is to help allow the natural process of resolution and integration of experience to continually flow into wholeness and pathways of sustainable joyful liberation.
